Fax Once Guide
How to fax without a subscription
Updated October 31, 2026
To fax without a subscription, use a pay-per-fax app or a copy shop. You pay for each fax you send and nothing in the months you don't send one.
Why so many fax apps charge monthly
A monthly plan often comes with your own fax number, so people can send faxes to you. That costs the provider money every month. If you only need to send a form now and then, you are paying for something you won't use.
When each one makes sense
| You should choose | If you |
|---|---|
| Pay per fax | Send a few faxes a year and don't need to receive any |
| A monthly plan | Send many faxes every month, or need your own fax number |
| A copy shop | Have no smartphone with you, or need to send pages in person |
What to check before you pay
- Is a trial hiding a plan? Many apps start with a free trial that becomes a weekly or yearly charge. Read the screen before you confirm, and see what you are agreeing to.
- What counts as one fax? Some services charge by the page, and others set a page limit per fax.
- What happens if it fails? Find out whether you pay for a fax that never arrived.
- Do credits expire? If you fax twice a year, this matters.
- Do you need an account? A sign-up means another email address and password held by another company.
How Fax Once charges
One credit sends one fax of up to 30 pages, cover sheet included. A credit costs $2.99, or less in packs of 5 or 20. Credits never expire, and a credit is used only when the fax is delivered. There is no subscription, no trial and no account.
Already paying for a plan you don't use?
On an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions to see and cancel what you are paying through Apple. Deleting an app doesn't cancel its subscription.
