Terms
Last updated October 31, 2026
Fax Once is licensed under Apple's standard end user license agreement. These terms add what is specific to faxing.
Credits
- A credit sends one fax of up to 30 pages, including the cover sheet, to one US or Canada number.
- Credits are bought in packs of 1, 5 and 20. They are consumable purchases. There is no subscription and no trial.
- A credit is used only when the fax is delivered. If a fax fails, the credit comes back.
- Credits never expire. They belong to the Apple ID that bought them, live on the iPhone they were delivered to and in its backups, and can't be moved to another Apple ID.
- Refunds are handled by Apple. A refunded purchase removes its unused credits.
What "delivered" means
Delivered means the receiving fax machine confirmed it received the pages. It does not mean a person has read them. We can't promise a fax will be delivered: the other line may be busy, off, or not a fax machine. When that happens you keep your credit.
What you must not send
- Unsolicited advertising or any junk fax. US law (the Junk Fax Prevention Act) restricts it, and Canadian law has similar rules.
- Anything unlawful, threatening or harassing.
- The same fax again and again to one number.
To prevent misuse, one iPhone can start 10 faxes a day, and we can refuse a fax or stop service for misuse. A refused fax does not use a credit.
Other things to know
- Fax Once only sends. It can't receive faxes or replies.
- The shortcuts for the IRS, your doctor and leave forms only start a fax. You supply the number. Fax Once is not affiliated with the IRS or any government agency, doctor or employer.
- Fax is not encrypted from end to end. Don't send what you wouldn't read out on a phone line.
- The service can be unavailable. If it is, the app says so and nothing is charged or used.
